If you're aiming to tone your arms, incorporating ISO exercises into your routine can be highly effective. Isometric exercises engage your muscles without joint movement, making them perfect for targeting specific areas like the arms. To amp up your arm-toning regimen, try exercises like planks, wall sits, or static holds with dumbbells. These movements not only sculpt your arms but also improve strength and endurance. hi Ellie! I am the Runway Dietitian and I just wanted to add a little to what Jessica wrote, which I 100% agree with. When we are trying to get rid of bulky muscle sometimes we have to eat in an overall caloric deficit or at least a deficit of certain macronutrients for a certain period of time. At first our body will turn to fat stores and break fat down for fuel / energy, but after a period of time our body will also break down some muscle to use for energy. I don't know your specifics so can not offer specific recommendations, but you can always book a consult with me if you desire a personalized plan. And def keep up with the Runway workouts - doing these workouts consistently really really helps to achieve that long lean physique without adding bulk
Warmly,

Hi Ellie! I hear you loud and clear, I was a pole vaulter in high school and built up a lot of upper body muscles my track coach loved but agents hated. The Runway Fitness exercises all work on stabilizing the body and muscles - this means the muscles are forced to squeeze tighter to the bones, resulting in slimming. I recommend not using any dumbbells where weights are suggested, you'll still get an awesome workout, but help slim down the muscles quicker.
Slow and steady wins the race, we want healthy bodies so I'd avoid diets designed at triggering muscle atrophy, they can cause other health issues.
If you're wanting to make sure you don't add bulk, limit protein intake for a bit after a workout. Don't cut out protein, just don't use it to fuel your muscles immediately post workout.

Hope this helps,
